Atelier Volvox - Waldglas

Forest glass (Waldglas in German) is the name given to the first drinking glasses made north of the Alps. They were made in forest glassworks because only in the forest was there enough fuel for the furnaces in which the glass was melted.

The cone in the bottom of the glass, the color and the air bubbles are elements from the history of forest glass that we have adopted for the design of our glasses.

The drinking glasses are handmade in the Czech Republic. Each one is shaped a little differently and the air bubbles are uniquely distributed, giving each glass its very own character.
